John says “When we took on The Meadows a year ago we had no idea where it would lead us or what, really, it would lead onto. We knew we wanted to create a family friendly “local” where good people would come for a drink or a meal and where customers became friends and where everyone came together for a fun, enjoyable, happy and jolly night out. It was quickly obvious that we had a lot of work to do! But we had our ideas and plans and our hopes and our dreams”
Well with their excellent meals, friendly atmosphere and live music on a Saturday night not to mention the occasional Wednesday quiz they have certainly made their mark.
The music on a Saturday evening has been excellent with local guitarists and small groups from far and wide but I think they raised the bar a little on Saturday 24th October 2015. The band “True Gents”, from Perth and fresh from touring around Scotland, were simply excellent. John had said that “True Gents is probably our most ambitious live music event to date” and I have to agree.
“True Gents” turned up with a 5 piece band and promptly set up and began to play. Their style of play with their original material was easy listening and their clean, well synchronized sound was a joy to hear. The guitar playing was clear and crisp with Lead guitar, Bass and Electric all adding to the mix with some excellent drumming and vocals.
The Meadows got busier and busier as the night went on and I am sure everyone enjoyed the music as much as we did.
Here is a small video of the band taken with the band’s permission but bear in mind the quality is not the best because it was taken with my mobile phone.
